Every year, I look forward to the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in January. This year is going to be a tad bit different. There is a small under current gathering, and I feel we are going to see a category-one storm on the showroom floor.
Americans are spending a lot of time online these days

According to a survey released by Forrester on Monday, Americans are now spending as many hours online as they do in front of their TV screens. How many hours? Lucky 13, if you can believe it. That's 26 hours a week, or almost 4 hours a day. While the amount of time spent watching TV has remained roughly the same in the past five years, Internet use has increased by 121% in the same time frame.

Ever travel to a foreign country where everything's Greek to you? You can't read signs, menus, or any other information because you don't speak or read the language. So what do you do? You wave your hands around, speak very slow, shout loudly, or make up words you hope they will understand.

I envy people in small towns that have those hole-in-a-wall diners. A place where locals go to get the best food at the best price - where everybody knows everybody and you're treated like family. Oh how I miss my favorite little Italian restaurant in Darien, Connecticut.
Let the "games" begin

It's been an excellent year for the video gaming industry. The big hit this holiday season was motion control. Microsoft has Kinect and Sony has the Playstation Move. Nothing new from Nintendo's Wii, but it still held its own, sales wise. This year, the first 3D handheld gaming system was introduced, and let's not forget that smartphone gaming took the market by storm.
What's next for 2011?
